For the fourth consecutive year, LATAM Airlines was named the ‘Best Airline to South America’ at the Global Traveler GT Tested Reader Survey Awards. LATAM was also recognized as ‘South America’s Leading Airline’ in the World Travel Awards 2017 for the second year in a row.
LATAM Airlines Group was named the ‘Best Airline to South America’ in the 14th annual Global Traveler GT Tested Reader Survey Awards last night at The Peninsula hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
This follows LATAM’s recent recognition as ‘South America’s Leading Airline’ in the World Travel Awards 2017, which were announced on Monday, December 11.
“It is a great honor to be recognized as the leading airline group in South America in two prestigious awards,” said Claudia Sender, Senior VP of Clients, LATAM Airlines Group. “These accolades are based on the opinions of expert travelers and are an important way of gauging what our customers value the most. As an airline group, we remain committed to offering our passengers not only unrivaled connectivity to, from and within Latin America, but also the very best travel experience from the moment of purchase to the arrival at their destination.”
The GT Tested Reader Survey Awards are based on an independently verified online survey of the readers of Global Traveler magazine, representing frequent travelers who average 11 international and 13 domestic round-trip flights as well as 60 nights in hotels per year, with 68 percent regularly traveling in business class. In 2017, 22,000 people participated in the survey, voting for their favorite airlines, hotels, loyalty programs and travel-related products.
The World Travel Awards have identified and rewarded excellence in the global travel and tourism industry over the past 24 years. International travel industry professionals are invited to vote for the best travel products – ranging from destinations and hotels to cruise operators and airlines – on a country, regional and global basis. The votes are then audited to ensure their validity.
LATAM Airlines Group offers more flights and destinations than any other airline group in Latin America, serving over 140 destinations in 25 countries, including domestic operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. LATAM serves all the region’s major cities including São Paulo, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogota and Guayaquil as well as principal tourist destinations ranging from Machu Picchu and Torres del Paine National Park to the Galapagos Islands and Rio de Janeiro.
LATAM is also a member of oneworld, which was awarded the ‘Best Airline Alliance’ title in the GT Tested Reader Survey Awards for the eighth year in a row and the ‘World’s Leading Airline Alliance’ in the World Travel Awards 2017 for the 15th straight year.
